I was just about to leave the Sacre Coeur when this guy suddenly jumped up next to the lamppost. And started playing with his ball. I usually don´t give much attention to football but this performance took me by heart. Charming, fun and impressive.

And after the performance, an equally fascinating event took place. People rushed up to him to thank him, not only by puting money in the hat, but by shaking his hand. And endless que of people kept on pouring towards him to show their appreciation. And he gracefully received it by welcoming every handshake with a huge bright smile. Memorable.

Let me introduce you to some hard working yet quite cheerful camels on the beach of Essuoira. There was one Pearl one Rose and a whole lot of Cappuchinos and Espressos. Their origin was Arabic, African or Asian. But when I tried to figure out how they ended up in Marocco the owner laughed so loudly I decided to drop further inquieries.

Treading my childhood summers among the Lofoten mountains has left a riff. A sniff. A suttle snap behind the ears. The smell of black crowberries and sweet saltcoated blueberries can be recalled in a split second. Anywhere. Anytime. Once I did it in a NY yellow cab.
We are talking imprints. Instant gratification. Now I am no child. And a photographer. Still spending my summers up there. I usually take pictures of everything. Anything. Everywhere. But in Lofoten? Nah.. Touring Lofoten with a camera allways felt like an insult. To the peaks. To photography as an art form. And all living beings.

It is actually not possible to take great pictures in Lofoten!

Which off course is a lie. I have seen a few. And I wish I knew how they did it. How many days in a tent to become invisible. How to approach the target without loosing yourself. How waveheight influences shutterspeeds and the importance of fogdeals with fishermen. How to press your entire body through the viewfinder to surprise the light. Revealing stockfish oasis guarded by intelligent sheep. Ready to take you down. As soon as you make that release.

I once again came home with the imprints. From the true story.

They met for the first time. Actually not. But this is what we said. It was not important. There were more important questions. How to hold it? Without losing a finger? Or a leg? How to look into the eyes? And remain solid? And safe. We lost a few in the trying. But he was so much younger. And laughing. She stepped up. And rested in the victory for years to come.

The Rose March, Oslo 25.07.2011

200 000 people participated in the Rose March in memory of the victims of the bombing and shooting Friday the 22 nd of July.
After the gathering we were encouraged to spread the roses all over the city. It was deeply touching to see Oslo covered with roses. Insisting on love and beauty as salvation for the devastating sorrow and pain.

I am grateful and proud of how our nation is handling the tragedy. We are seeking closer together. With love and support. To heal and help. Refusing to listen to the hate. Choosing love as the only way.

Could this be a way to invite creativity out to play?

Following creative impulses is sometimes all about grasping every idea that comes along. Hoping this is THE ONE. That will catapult us into a new world. Where we will live creatively awake.. It surely is also a lot about waiting and leting go. So here we are. Hanging in thin air. In the shadows of our ideas.

To bring them down we will surrender to Julia Camerons 12 weeks program in her book “The Artists way; A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity.” Will there be any significant changes in our pictures as we move along? There is only one way to find out..
